Common anxiety disorders such as Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD) may produce symptoms of loss of energy and lethargy. Sufferers of GAD experience frequent, if not relentless thoughts of worry and are always anticipating disaster. Obsessing and worrying about the smallest situations and problems can make a sufferer feel incapacitated.

Although panic and anxiety attacks can appear similar, they are very different in severity. Difficulty breathing, chest pains, derealization and depersonalization; these are just some of the symptoms a sufferer may experience. What’s worse is that these attacks can go on for hours and symptoms can last for days, even weeks.

Sufferers tend to avoid places where they’ve had a panic attack in case they have a repeat. It’s difficult to not worry about having another attack, since a future one is certain.

Symptoms of panic and anxiety disorders may worsen without treatment. Chemical changes in the brain and external stressors are often the cause of such disorders. In addition, these disorders may be inherited and run in families.

Frequent panic attacks are highly debilitating for a sufferer. panic and anxiety disorders are however, highly treatable. Apart from medication, behavioral therapy and alternative therapies are available. These treatments can make a difference to a sufferers life.
